To access your SBI YONO app, you need your MPIN. However, if you forget it, you can easily reset it. If you are a new user of YONO, You can also set New MPIN by following the given process. In this post, I’ll walk you through the steps to change or reset your UPI PIN in YONO.

SBI YONO Dashboard

Options Available to Create the MPIN

Like other PINs, YONO MPIN is also a numeric code. However, some banks give the 4 digits numeric code. But this PIN consists of the 6 digits numeric code. You should keep this code secret. Because with the help of this number anyone can access your bank account.

There are three options to create the YONO MPIN.

  • Through the branch
  • YONO App itself and
  • ATM

But here we will talk only about the YONO app method.

How to Create MPIN Through the YONO App (First timeUsers)

To create the MPIN for mobile banking through the YONO app, follow some steps-

Step 1, Install the YONO SBI App from the Google Play Store. Then open the app.

Step 2- Login the app with your Internet Banking User ID and Password. Or if you are not using the Net Banking, you may login with the following details-

  • ATM Card Number
  • ATM Card PIN

Now enter the account details along with ATM Card details and ATM Card PIN. Click on submit.

Step 3- Consent for MPIN page will open. Tick on the accept box and click on Next.

Step 4- Now enter a 6 digit MPIN of your choice. Re-enter the digits. You can also read the instructions for creating the MPIN. Then click on Next.

Step 5- You would get an SMS on your registered mobile number containing the OTP. This is to verify your authenticity. Enter the OTP received. Click on Next.

Step 6– Thus, you have successfully registered for the YONO app and your MPIN is generated. Moreover, you can login the app with the help of MPIN from right here. Now, you can explore all the features of YONO app.

How to Reset the YONO SBI MPIN

Once you register with the YONO App and create the MPIN, you may change or reset it whenever you want. Remember, to create the MPIN there was an option through the branch. But for the reset no need to go to the branch. So again you have three options to reset it.

  • Through Net Banking
  • YONO App and
  • ATM

Step 1

Open the YONO app. Login with entering the MPIN. Alternatively, you may log in with your Net Banking User ID and Password.

Step 2

Then you reach the home page of YONO SBI. Scroll down a little. You can see the Service Requests option under the Quick Links heading. Or without scrolling down you may tap on the three parallel lines at the top left corner.

Step 3

A pop window opens from the bottom. There you would have many options. Tap on the ‘Settings’.

Step 4

In the Settings page look under the sections security. The first option is for the ‘Set MPIN’. Tap on that options.

Step 5

Now you would be asked to provide the consent. Read the consent page and tap on the NEXT.

Step 6

Now enter your new 6-digit number. You have re-enter it for the confirmation. after submitting the new MPIN, you are required to enter the OTP. The OTP would be sent to your registered mobile number.

This completes the resetting of MPIN in the SBI YONO app.

Note, SBI YONO MPIN is different from the UPI PIN and ATM PIN. You can keep all these three PINs separate. You need these PIN for the payment and cash withdrawal. There is only one method of mobile payment which does not require any PIN. This method is UPI Lite. You can use this method of payment through any of the UPI apps such as Phonepe, Google Pay, SBI Pay etc.
