UPI (Unified Payment Interface) facility on your SBI Bank account helps you to pay, receive and transfer money. But now you want to disable the UPI facility from your bank account. I can understand, you want this for security reasons.
Don’t worry, you may disable UPI from your SBI account whenever you want. In this post, I will tell you how you can do it.
After Effect of Disable UPI
Before starting the disable process, you must know one important thing. Once you delete the UPI from your SBI account, you might not be able to use its services. Then you can not make any transactions using UPI. Moreover, you may not fetch the previous transaction details as well.
However, You may register the UPI again in your SBI account. But you have to enable the UPI facility in your account with a new UPI ID. Because for the security purpose the old UPI ID will not be available to you.

Process to Disable UPI From Your SBI Account
There are three ways to disable the UPI facility- Net Banking, SBI YONO Lite App and through the home branch. Have a look-
Through Net Banking
Login to the SBI website with your Net Banking User ID and password and follow some steps-
Step 1, On the home page tap on My Accounts and Profile section.

Step 2, This is My Accounts interface. In this page, tap on Profile option.

Step 3, A new page will be displayed. It is the Profile page where you can see different options. Here you have to select Enable/ Disable Accounts for UPI option.

Step 4, Now on the Enable/ Disable Accounts for UPI page, enter your Profile Password. Then click on Submit.

Step 5, On the new page, you can see your SBI bank account. If you have more than one SBI accounts, you can see all the accounts. Now select the one account for which you want to disable the UPI facility. And click on Submit again.

Step 6, As you click on the submit button, on the next page you can see two options for your selected account. First is enable and the second is disable. Select the disable option and click on Submit.

Thus the UPI is disabled from your bank account. This is the same process for the enabling of UPI again.
Through the Mobile Banking
Now see how you can disable UPI from your account through YONO app in Mobile Banking.
Step 1, Open the SBI YONO Lite App. Click on the UPI option on the home page.
Step 2, Now click on Enable/ Disable UPI button. Then enter your Profile Password.
Step 3, Select your Account number and tap to OFF the ‘Enable UPI Account’ button. Now click on submit.
Step 4, After submitting, you get a message on your screen for the successful disable of UPI for the account. Moreover, there is also an information that you can not use UPI for further transactions.
In the same way, you may enable the UPI for your SBI Account. Further, you can not register the same UPI in YONO or any other BHIM UPI App. You have to register with a new UPI ID.
By Visiting the Home Branch
Thus you can see how the disable of UPI for the account is so easy. However, if you do not use the Net Banking and Mobile Banking, you may avail this facility through the branch.
For this visit your home branch and submit a written application to the executive. The application must be for the disable of UPI facility from your account with an appropriate reason.
