By Chandrakant Mishra | Published On January 27, 2020

State Bank of India (SBI), the largest bank of India gives its customers the Mobile Banking facility through the YONO SBI App. But to use the YONO App, you should have the MPIN number. Because without this PIN you can not access the app services. In other words, MPIN is necessary for the authentication of the user.

YONO means ‘You Only Need One’ app. So, the purpose of this app to provide all services to the customers in one place in their mobile. Like Banking, Investment, Shopping, Bill payments etc. This app is linked with your SBI bank account.

Hence in this post, I will tell you how you can generate and reset the YONO SBI MPIN.

Options Available to Create the MPIN

Like other PINs, YONO MPIN is also a numeric code. However, some banks give the 4 digits numeric code. But YONO MPIN consists of the 6 digits numeric code. You should keep this code secret. Because with the help of this number anyone can access your bank account.

There are three options to create the MPIN. These are-

  • Through the branch
  • YONO App itself and
  • ATM

But here we will talk about the YONO app method to create the MPIN.

How to Create MPIN Through the YONO App

To create the MPIN for mobile banking through the YONO app, follow some steps-

Step 1, Install the YONO SBI App from the Google Play Store. Then open the app.

Step 2, Login the app with your Internet Banking User ID and Password. Or if you are not using the Net Banking, you may login with the following details-

  • SBI Account details
  • ATM Card details

Now enter the account details along with ATM Card details and ATM Card PIN. Click on submit.

Step 3, Consent for MPIN page will open. Tick on the accept box and click on Next.

Step 4, Now set up a 6 digit MPIN of your choice. Re-enter the MPIN. You can also read the instructions for creating the MPIN. Then click on Next.

Step 5, You would get an SMS on your registered mobile number containing the OTP. This is to verify your authenticity. Enter the OTP received. Click on Next.

Step 6, Hence, you have successfully registered for the YONO app and your MPIN is generated. Moreover, you can login the app with the help of MPIN from right here. Then you can explore all the features of YONO app.

How to Reset the YONO SBI MPIN

Once you register with the YONO App and create the MPIN, you may change or reset it whenever you want. Remember, to create the MPIN there was an option through the branch. But for the reset no need to go to the branch. So again you have three options to reset the MPIN-

  • Through Net Banking
  • YONO App and
  • ATM

Now let us talk about the reset of the MPIN through the YONO App.

Step 1

Open the YONO app. Login with entering the MPIN. Alternatively, you may log in with your Net Banking User ID and Password.

Step 2

Then you reach the home page of YONO SBI. Scroll down a little. You can see the Service Requests option under the Quick Links heading. Or without scrolling down you may tap on the three parallel lines at the top left corner.

Step 3

Your profile page opens with some options. Here tap on Service Requests option.

Step 4

Now the Service Request page interface opens. Tap on the first option ‘Manage PIN’ under the Emergency title.

Step 5

A new interface opens where you can see many options. Thus under the Security title, tap on the first option ‘Change MPIN’.

Step 6

Now enter the Net Banking Profile Password to proceed and click on the Confirm button. In case if you have lost or forget this password, you would have to reset it first. You can see the forgot profile password help option below this.

Thus without this password, you can not change the MPIN in YONO app.

Step 7

After clicking on confirm button a new page will open. Here you have to enter your current MPIN. Then enter the new MPIN which you want to create now. Again enter the new MPIN. Click on the Confirm button.

Step 8

Now your new MPIN is updated successfully. Thus you have to use this new PIN now for login.

So in this way you can create and reset MPIN very easily through the YONO App.
