The PNB customers can rejoice as the bank has launched its UPI app well before the SBI. You can easily find ‘PNB UPI app’ in the Google play store. Name of the app is very easy to remember. It is just PNB UPI app. This android based UPI app is as efficient as other UPI apps. The PNB customer must try the PNB UPI app as it has a clean look.
Punjab National Bank is the second largest government bank. It has more customers and branches than the ICICI BANK. There are about 9 crore customers of the PNB. The PNB was the in the first batch of the banks who have joined the UPI. Among the top PSU banks, the PNB was the first to come with its UPI app.
As you know that UPI is a most advanced method of fund transfer. Since it is a mobile application based payment system, it works on the smartphone. The UPI app transfers money immediately. The system always works, even on holidays and night. It is 24*7 payment system. The unique feature of UPI is the virtual payment address. Becuase of the VPA, you don’t need the account number and IFSC code of the payee. It gives more security to the bank account holders. Moreover, there is no transaction charge if you transfer fund through the UPI. Indeed, It is far better payment method than NEFT, RTGS and IMPS.

You can’t send money immediately to a new payee through the NEFT or IMPS. As it takes up to 24 hours for the activation of a new payee. But with the UPI there is no waiting period. You can transfer fund to a new payee straightaway.
Instant Verification of Payee
Do you also send a nominal test payment to a new payee? Many of us do this to be assured about the account number and payee. We do this because there is no inbuilt method to verify the given account number. The UPI has addressed this problem. When you enter the VPA into the PNB UPI app, It immediately shows you the name of the VPA. After seeing the name of the payee you can pay money without any hesitation.

The UPI system is very transparent. Once you approve the payment, you would get an instant notification through the UPI app and SMS. You can see the status of your payment inside the PNB UPI app. The beneficiary would also receive an SMS and notification of payment credit.
