There is a customer care number of Phonepe, but most of the times your problem would be solved by chat support. Today in this post, I would tell you the methods to lodge your complaints with the Customer helpline of the Phonepe in 2023.

But trust me, the online chat support and help, would take less time and stress. That is why I would tell you first about the Chat support. The Phonepe also provides a knowledge bank that has answers to your queries.
Phonepe Customer Care Chat Support
The easiest way to contact Phonepe customer care is the Support ticket. The support is provided through the chat facility. You can chat with Phonepe customer care through the App itself. Else, you can write your problem, the support person would reply to it as soon as possible.
Getting support through this method is quite easy and self-explanatory. Most of the time you would not require support from the executive. The system itself would answer your question.
The Phonepe has a well-structured support system. The problems are categorized. When you choose your category and explain your problem, the system itself provides some solution. Because of this arrangement, mostly you get your answer without actually making a contact.
There are 2 ways to acess the Chat support of the phonepe.
First Method to Access Chat Support of Phonepe
1. In the first method, you can directly tap on the question mark. You can see this mark on the top right side of the first page.

2. As you tap on the Question Mark, you directly reach the help page. This page lists various types of problems. Among the listed problems, you should choose the correct one. Tap on that.

3. If you choose the transaction-related problem, the next page would be of your past transactions. You have to choose the transaction which has an issue.

4. Tap on the chosen transaction. With this step, you reach the support chat page of the Phonepe.

Second Method to Acess Chat Support
This method is more suitable for transaction related problem.
1 On the home page, search for the ‘History’ tab on the bottom right side. Tap on it.

2. Now you would see all of your past transactions. Choose the transactions that have an issue. Tap on that.

3. The Next page contains all of the transaction details. At the bottom, you can see the link to ‘contact Phonepe Support’. Tap on it. This brings you to the Chat support page.

Raising Support Ticket
1.The next page is of the Raising the support ticket. You can also see the status of your payment. Now, you have to choose the exact problem. If money has not reached the beneficiary. Tap on that very problem.

2. As you choose the exact problem, the phonepe gives you an immediate answer as per its record. Often It would say that Payment has been successful. So, you must check once again with the beneficiary. If money still did not reach tap on the ‘View Ticket’ Link. You can find it on the top right side of the current page.

3. This page lists all of your support tickets. Since, you still have to issue, you should tap on the ticket.

4. The phonepe Again says that Your payment has been successful. So, if you still have a problem, contact the bank. You have to also provide the UTR number, date and time to the bank. However, you can still continue your chat with the Phonepe. For that Tap on Reply.

5. A writing space appears. In this space, you can write your problem specifically. You can also attach a file as proof. This can be a screenshot as well. Now, you have to wait for the answer.

In this step, a customer care executive would try to solve your problem within 24 hours. It may also ask you to wait for 3 days as sometimes money stuck due to the technical glitch. The system sorts out the transaction-related issues in 3 working days. So you have to wait for that period.

You can directly send an email to the customer care of the phonepe. In the mail, you have to write about your problem. If it is transaction-related, don’t forget to mention the transaction ID. You can find your transaction details from the ‘My Account’ Section. The email ID for this support is given below.

You can also dial the contact number of the Phonepe. However, the given number is not toll-free. You would be charged for the call. Hence, you should always prefer the support ticket and email as these are free.

Escalation of The Grievance
It is possible that PhonePe’s customer care cannot solve your problem. In such a situation, you can forward your complaint to the PhonePe authorities.
But before taking the matter further, understand that if the matter is related to refund of money and your refund has been approved then it may take up to 10 days. That’s why you should be patient.
Some cases may take longer. In such a situation, if PhonePe Customer Care informs in advance, then there is no need to pursue the complaint.
If your problem is not solved by a support ticket, email and call, then you can escalate your complaint by sending an email to the given address.
This mail should contain the following information.
- Your name
- Your registered mobile number
- Ticket number of the initial complaint
- Why are you not satisfied with the response of customer care.
You will get the reply to this email in 24 hours. And PhonePe claims that the problem will also be resolved within 2 days. If it takes much time then you will be informed.
But if you are still not satisfied then you can move the complaint further. In the next step you can send your complaint to the email given below. The complaint should be accompanied by all the information stated above
Here also, Your problem should be resolved within two days.
What if Problem Persists
Friends, please note, The Phonepe would not be able to support you beyond that. The actual money transfer takes place between the banks. The UPI apps such as phonepe, Google Pay, Paytm etc don’t play any role in money transfer. These apps only provide a platform to facilitate payment orders and authentication with the banks. Thus, finally, you may have to go to your bank.
You should also note, Only the sender can complain to its bank. The beneficiary would not be able to raise the issue. Also, the beneficiary bank would not respond to your problem.
Also, you should keep checking with the beneficiary. The money can be credited at any time. For your assurance, you can also check with the statement of the beneficiary.
Meanwhile, you can contact the customer support of the bank through the helpline, email or walk-in. Every bank provides customer support through all these three means. As you contact the bank’s customer care, you have to give the following details.
- UTR Number – You can find it from the transactions page of the Phonepe
- Date and Time – It is written on the transactions page.

Further, if your bank does not resolve your problem, you can contact to the RBI ombudsman for the digital transaction. This ombudsman would listen to both the sides and pass an order.
Common Phonepe Problems and Answers
There are some common problems with payment apps. The Phonepe customer care gives a standard answer to these common problems. Hence, it is better to know these answer here only.
Question 1- My UPI transaction has failed but money is deducted from the bank account. What to Do?
Answer- This is the most common problem of Payment apps. However, you should not worry as 99% of the people get back their money within 1 hour. So you should wait for at least one hour to get back the money. But, if you don’t get money within one hour, contact phonepe customer support using any of the above 3 methods.
Question 2- It is showing that the transaction is successful but the beneficiary did not get the money.
Answer- This problem is similar to the above situation. So the answer is also the same. Sometimes, it can take longer to credit the amount in the bank account. So you must wait for one hour. After this time you should contact customer care.
Question 3- After entering the UPI PIN the app crashed. How would I know that the transaction was successful?
Answer- To know the payment status, you can check the transaction history. It is available in my account section. You would also get an SMS of a successful transaction.
Question 4- I have recharged a mobile number through the Phoenepe. The money was deducted but recharge did not happen.
Answer- It is a common thing. Sometimes it happens as recharge fails at the operator. If recharges does not happen the phonepe would refund your amount within an hour. If you have still not received your refund, please contact customer support.
Question 5- I have paid a bill through the Phonepe. The amount is paid successfully. But I did not get any message from the service provider. How would I know whether my bill is paid or not?
Answer- The bill payments take time. It happens with all the digital modes. It can take 2-4 days when you would be able to see the confirmation at the service provider portal. If there is no change in 3 days, contact the Phonepe Support

Question 6- Is the UPI PIN different from my PhonePe password?
Answer- Yes! The PhonePe password (a 4 digit pin) is used to log in to your PhonePe account only. The UPI PIN, which is issued by your bank is used to authorize each transaction that you initiate through your bank account linked to PhonePe.
Question 7– How do I set the UPI PIN for my bank account from PhonePe?
Answer- You can set UPI PIN from the Phonepe app. Note, you have to set a UPI PIN for every bank account.
To set the UPI PIN, you have to go to the Bank account details. There you would find the link to set or change the UPI PIN.
In this process, you would be asked the last 6 digits number of the debit card and expiry date. The App would also send an OTP to the registered mobile number. You have to enter this OTP to set the UPI PIN.
Question 8- Cashback not awarded
Answer- The phonepe gives cashback for various promotions. However, It can take up to 24 hours for the payment. It is auto-processed when the transaction falls right according to the terms and conditions.
