Per Day Limit of UPI Apps – Google Pay, Phonepe, Paytm and SBI Pay

By Chandrakant Mishra | Published On January 14, 2020

Unified Payment Interface, UPI is facilitating the users to transact the money in three ways. Transfer from one account to another, Bill payments and Merchant transactions. But there are also the limits on fund transfer.

NPCI, the governing body of UPI Payment system has set the transaction limit for the UPI Apps. In this post, I will tell you per day transaction limits of UPI Apps. These UPI Apps include Paytm, Google Pay, Phonepe, SBI Pay etc

UPI Transactions Daily Limit

Transaction Limit of UPI

NPCI is giving the UPI transaction facility under the three limits-

  1. Per day transaction limit. It is ₹1 lakh per day. Thus your total transaction in a day should not be more than this amount. This limit is set for every bank account irrespective of the app.
  2. Per transaction limit. Per UPI transaction limit is also ₹1 lakh. So if you have made a transaction of ₹1 lakh in a single transaction, you can not transact any more on that day.
  3. The number of transactions per day limit. NPCI is also limiting the number of transactions in a day. It is 10. Thus you can not make UPI transactions more than 10 times in a day from one bank account.

All the UPI Apps must have to follow the above limits of transactions. However, they can set their own limits as well. But it should not exceed the NPCI limits. Moreover, these limits are for the account to account transfer. Not for the payment to the merchant. There is no limit for the merchant payments.

Note:- You may send the money beyond the above limits. But for this, you have to link more than one account in your UPI App. Then you may send separately from each account up to the limits.

So many applications make you confused. Govt should not allow only a limited number of
applications. Online transactions should also be limited as everyone is not expected to operate the mobiles.
