3 Most Important Facts About the UPI PIN

I have listed the five most important facts about the UPI PIN. It is applicable in Paytm and other apps as well. lets quickly go through it.

1. UPI PIN is Mandatory for Debit

UPI PIN is a 4-6 digit number. You have to enter this number to make a payment through the UPI App.

This number is set by you. No one else should know about it. You should also not share it.

The UPI PIN is similar to the ATM PIN. But It is only used in the UPI Apps. Paytm, Phonepe, Google Pay, SBI Pay etc are the UPI apps. You need this PIN to use all these apps.

2. Linked to Bank Account

The UPI PIN is the key to your bank account. Thus it is linked to the account only. Every bank account has only one UPI PIN at a time.

The UPI PIN of a bank account remains same irrespective of the UPI App. The UPI app only facilitates the setting and resetting of it.

Thus the same number can be used in Paytm, Phonepe, or any UPI App for the same bank account.
