What is Paytm QR Code Rupay Payment?

By Chandrakant Mishra | Published On February 6, 2020

The Paytm has launched the All in One QR code for the merchants. This new type of QR code would give more option of payment for the customers. Which would translate into the greater business for the merchants.

The All in One QR code helps merchants to accept payment through the three ways at 0% fee-

  1. Paytm Wallet
  2. All UPI Apps
  3. And Rupay Debit Card

The first two modes are almost clear. Hence, in this post I am telling you the working of the third mode. Thus let us see how you can accept payment through the Rupay Debit Card as a merchant.

Paytm All in one QR code

All In One QR For Rupay Card payment

To avail the services of all modes of payment you have to buy the All in One QR code. Then you need not have multiple QR for the different payment modes. To purchase you have to place an order through your Paytm for Business App. Moreover, you can make an order through Customer Support as well.

This new QR code is available in various utility items which the merchant can use on a daily basis. Like Calculator, Pen stand, Digital Clock, Radio, Sound Box etc. Moreover, Paytm has introduced personalised QR with the name, logos and pictures of the merchants on the QR.

Scanning the QR Code through the Rupay Debit Card?

When I was posting the earlier article on this topic, I thought that how you can accept payment from customers by the third mode. In other words, how is it possible for your customer so that he scans the QR code and pays with his Rupay Debit Card?

Moreover, when he can pay already through the linked Bank Account with UPI PIN then what is the need of Rupay Debit Card? However, Rupay card may prove more beneficial for those customers who have not linked their account with the Paytm App. Then they have the option to pay through the Rupay card.

Another Mode of Payment- Rupay Card

So I make a call to the Customer Support 0120-4440440 of the Paytm for Business App. Though it took much time to connect with customer support executive but it gave me a satisfactory answer. The executive told me that customers would get another payment option of ‘All Rupay Debit Card’.

Thus just scanning the QR code with Paytm app, there will be one more payment option of Rupay Debit card. And it will be along with already available payment modes like Paytm Wallet, Linked Bank Account and Paytm Payment Bank.

Note:- To connect with the above number, your mobile number must be registered as a merchant number with Paytm.

Follow the Steps to Receive the Payment through Rupay Card

Hence if you want to accept unlimited payments through the Rupay Debit card facility, only follow some steps. Have a look-

Step 1, After receiving the All in One QR code, place it in your shop. Now allow the customer to scan the code with their Paytm App only.

Step 2, Unlike the old three, now the customers get the four options to pay. As Paytm Wallet, Linked Bank Account, Paytm Payment Bank Account and the new Rupay Debit Card.

Step 3, Tell the customer to select the Rupay Debit Card option. After selecting now the customer has to fill all details of the card in appropriate boxes.

Step 4, Then he has to tap on Pay button. He will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number.

Step 5, After entering the OTP, the payment will be completed.

Thus in this way you can receive the payment through Rupay Card.

Benefits of the Rupay Card Mode

Through the Rupay card option, you can facilitate yourself and the customer as well. As for the customer no requirement to top up the Paytm wallet or link the bank account with the app. And you get another mode to receive the payment. Look at the benefits-

  • When the customer pays through any debit card he pays the transaction charges as well. This is MDR. However, it is now waived off by the government. Also, the Rupay card mode is free of charge.
  • Moreover, you are also not required to pay the MDR. You may accept payment at 0% charge directly into your bank account.
  • You may get unlimited payments through the Rupay card and other modes as well.
  • Now no need to bring card for the customers if once they make a transaction. Because the card details would save for further transactions at the choice of the customers.
  • No need to swipe the card on POS. Also, it is safe from any fraud.
  • It will accelerate the Digital India Mission as well.

Payment Options Already Available

If you are merchant and registered in Paytm for Business account. Then you are already accepting payment through the present QR code. So when your customer scans your QR code through the Paytm App, he gets the three payment options. Like Paytm Wallet, BHIM UPI enabled Bank Account and Paytm Payments Bank Account.

Moreover, you may get another option of UPI enabled app when the customer scans QR through any other UPI App like Phonepe or Google Pay etc. In other words, you are already enjoying the first two modes of digital payment. Now you may get the payment by the third option as well.
