Requirements of Missed Call Service
Before using this facility, you have to complete a few requirements. Have a look-
- Your mobile number must be linked with your account.
- The mobile number must be in the active condition.
- You have to register your number for the missed call service before using this facility. Some banks provide an SMS facility to register the mobile number whereas some provide a hard or soft copy of the form for the registration process.
- You can not use any other mobile number in spite of the linked number.
- Your number should not be registered for more than one account in the same bank. However, if it is then some banks send a joint message for each and every account.
- Though you may use this facility for all separate bank accounts where you have linked the same number.

1. State Bank of India
State bank’s missed call service number for the balance inquiry is 09223766666.
Dial this number from your registered mobile number. After two or three rings the call disconnects automatically. And you receive an SMS from SBI containing the latest balance of your account.
You can also send SMS
Moreover, you may send an SMS to the aforesaid number in spite of making a call. For this, write BAL and send the message. Then you will get the balance instantly in the form of an SMS.
Registration
But to avail this facility, firstly you have to register your number for the State Bank Quick Service. To register your number you have to send an SMS from your linked mobile number to the SBI.
The format of the SMS for the registration will be: REG<space>Account no. and send it to 09223488888.
After the registration, not only the balance inquiry but you may get other pieces of information as well. Like Mini Statement, ATM card blocking etc.
2. Punjab National Bank
There are two Missed Call Numbers for the balance inquiry in PNB.
First is 1800 180 2223. This is a toll free number.
And the second number is 0120-2303090. You may use any number.
3. Bank of Baroda
For the balance inquiry Bank of Baroda (BOB) provides this Missed Call number.
