How To Find Your UPI ID from Phonepe, Google Pay and Paytm

Today, every shopping site gives you the option of BHIM UPI Payment. But it requires the UPI ID to proceed. But most of use are not aware of our UPI ID. That is why you want to know that from where you can find the UPI ID. IN this post, I would tell you all the methods to find out the UPI ID along with some useful tips.

Before Searching For UPI ID

But, before searching for the UPI ID, you must be the user of the BHIM UPI apps. Only after the registration in any of the UPI app, you would be able to use the UPI ID. There are numerous UPI apps. Among them the most popular are Phonepe, Paytm, Google Pay, SBI Pay, Mobikwik, and BHIM.

All these apps create UPI ID as it is necessary for the UPI transaction. But, some of the apps do not prominently display it.

So, before searching for the UPI ID, you must know to which UPI app are you registered. It is mandatory to know the UPI App for finding out the UPI ID.

It is also possible that you have registered with many UPI apps. If this is the case, you should pick the desired UPI app. Normally, it should be your favorite one. I have given the methods for some of the popular UPI apps.

How to Find Out UPI ID in Phonepe App?

Today Phonepe is the most popular UPI app. In this app, you don’t have any role in the creation of UPI ID. The app itself creates UPI ID for you. But, you would not see this UPI ID easily. There are three steps to find it out.

1- Open the Phonepe app and tap on your profile photo. You can find it at the top left corner.

2- You would see a list of various profile related details. There is a link for the BHIM UPI ID as well. Tap on that link.

3- The next page would show your BHIM UPI ID.

The UPI ID created by the Phonepe would have a suffix of @ybl. It stands for the Yes Bank Limited. For your information, the Phonepe has collaborated with the yes bank to provide the UPI fund transfer service.

Smart Tip- Now, the Phonepe also uses your mobile number to create the UPI ID, thus your UPI ID may be in the following pattern. You can try this.

You can use this pattern to find out your UPI ID easily even without opening the Phonepe. However, old Phonepe user might have different UPI ID. They should go through the method I have told above.

How to Find Out Amazon Pay UPI ID

UPI ID from the Google Pay

The Google Pay shows UPI ID most prominently. You have to only open the Google Pay app to find out the UPI ID.

1- As you open the Google Pay app, you would see your photo at the top. Just below the photo, you would find your UPI ID.

The UPI ID from Google Pay has one of the four suffixes. These are @okicici @oksbi @okhdfc and @okaxis.

Google Pay uses your Gmail ID to create the UPI ID. Normally it replaces the gmail.com with one of the above suffixes.

  • Gmail ID – [email protected]
  • UPI ID – xy123@okicici

In the Google Pay, you have UPI ID for each linked bank account. The UPI ID of the default bank account is shown in the dashboard. But to find out another UPI ID you have to dig deeper.

  1. Open Google Pay app.
  2. Tap on your photo.
  3. In the coming page, tap Bank account.
  4. Tap on the desired bank account whose UPI ID you want to view.
  5. You will find the associated UPI ID under “UPI IDs”.

Get UPI ID of the Paytm

The Paytm extensively uses the UPI for fund transfer but, most of the users are not aware of the UPI ID in the Paytm. Since users don’t have any role in UPI ID creation, they never bother about it. However, in Paytm you require only one slide and two taps to get the UPI ID.

1- Open your Paytm app as usual. Slide the blue band which contains the menu item. After sliding once, you would have 4 new options. The last one would be of ‘UPI’. Tap on the UPI.

2- It would open a page which contains UPI related details and payment history. The first item would be the BHIM UPI ID.

The suffix for the Paytm UPI ID would be @paytm.

The Paytm also uses your mobile number to create the UPI ID. Thus, you can also directly input your linked mobile number along with the @paytm suffix.

I have told you the method of finding out UPI ID of the 3 most popular UPI apps. For other UPI Apps, the method would be similar. You have to reach at profile page or UPI page to find out the UPI ID of that app.

Besides this, you can very easily know the UPI ID of those apps which uses your mobile number for assigning the UPI ID. The SBI Pay and BHIM also assigns UPI ID in this pattern.

  • SBI Pay UPI ID – <your mobile number>@sbi
  • BHIM UPI ID – <your mobile number>@upi

Besides the BHIM UPI ID, UPI PIN is also important for making a payment. without this pin, you would not be able to make a payment from your bank account.
