You are not the only one who is searching for BHIM app for windows. There are a lot of people who want to get the PC version of BHIM app. Because they want to use BHIM app on PC and make payments using it. For most people, PC is more convenient and secure to use than a smartphone.
Surprisingly, there is not a clear information available on BHIM app for Windows. Most of the things are written without proper research and provide false information. That is why I decided to guide you by writing this article. This article will provide you all the necessary information on BHIM app for PC and Windows.
BHIM App for Windows and PC
BHIM app is probably the best way to make faster, safer and easier digital payments . Initially, the government introduced BHIM for Android smartphones only. Later it also launched the BHIM app for iPhone. Since most active smartphones are based on either Android or iOS, the government decided to go with only these two. It hasn’t yet released the BHIM app for Windows Phones, Blackberry or PC.
Hence, you cannot use the BHIM app on PC and any smartphone other than Android or iPhone. However, you can still use BHIM features using *99# banking on all phones including Windows and Blackberry. But there is no way you can use *99# banking on PC.
Alternative way to Install BHIM app for Windows or PC
One day, during my research, I came across an article on BHIM app for PC. It was suggesting an alternative way of using BHIM app on PC. Thereafter I found the similar information on some other websites too.
According to them, you can use BHIM app on PC using Bluestacks software.
Bluestacks is an Android emulator for PC. It creates a virtual Android environment on your PC. You can install and use almost every Android app on Bluestacks software. For this, you first need to install the Bluestacks on your PC and sign into your Google account.
Now, here is the important piece of information from me. As a matter of fact, you cannot run BHIM app on Bluestacks software also. The writers of all those articles have written those articles without researching.

Even though I knew the result, I tried the Bluestacks software just to be sure while telling you. I downloaded and installed the Bluestacks on my Laptop. The size of Bluestacks is more than 260MB. After installing, I signed into my Google account and then tried to install the BHIM app on it.
First I tried to Download BHIM app using Google Play but I didn’t succeed. Then I tried to install using BHIM APK, no success again. The emulator said that the app doesn’t support this device. However, after too many efforts, I successfully installed the app. But when I started the app and tried to activate it, it asked to send a message. And when I tapped on next, it said that SMS sending failed.
SMS sending was failed because there is no SIM present in the Bluestacks. Bluestacks doesn’t support call or SMS feature. Hence you cannot verify the mobile number and handset in BHIM app.
Why can’t you run BHIM app on PC using Bluestacks?
To understand this better, you first need to understand how BHIM app works. When you launch BHIM on your phone for the first time, it sends an SMS to authenticate your smartphone. And you already know that you cannot send a message if you don’t have a SIM on your phone. Since you cannot insert a SIM in Bluestacks or PC, you cannot run BHIM app for PC on it.

However, I tried every possible way to run the BHIM app on PC but failed. Hence I suggest you to stop searching for BHIM app for Windows or PC. Instead, use BHIM on your smartphone and enjoy digital payments.
You will enjoy payments with BHIM when you have it installed on your smartphone. Because it is the smartphone that you take everywhere with you, not the PC. Hence accept it. There is no way you can use BHIM app on your PC unless government launch BHIM app for Windows.
thanks for the article as it saved my time
Good info.Thanks
Hi,
Thanks A LOT for the frank report on this. Really you have saved me a lot of useless searching on the net. It IS true that people simply write/dump/copy articles on the net (especially in India) w/o any research – for an example just a browse of google links for “get aadhar online” should suffice… (There is no such thing as getting online – it is a VERY manual process). Thanks again.
This was a well researched article. It covered why Bhim can not be used in PC at all.
