ATM Withdrawal Limits of SBI, ICICI, HDFC and Other Banks

Recently, SBI has reduced the ATM withdrawal Limit. From 31 October 2018, you would be able to withdraw only ₹20,000 in a day from the ATM. Earlier, you could withdraw up to ₹40,000 in a day. This would be the least withdrawal limit among top banks of India. Even the Government banks such as PNB and BOB have a higher limit. The private banks already have a higher ATM withdrawal limit.

Reduction of SBI ATM Withdrawal Limit

The SBI has reduced the withdrawal limit only for the classic and Maestro debit card. After this reduction, the withdrawal Limit of SBI Debit card would be as follows. These limits are applicable from 31/10/2018.

  • SBI Classic Debit Card – ₹20,000/day
  • SBI Silver Card – ₹20,000/day
  • Gold International Debit Card – ₹50,000
  • SBI Platinum International Debit Card – ₹1 lakh

SBI is the biggest bank in India and it has the most customers. There are about 41 crore account in the State Bank if India. Hence, this news would be a matter of concern for a large section of the people. As you may often require more than ₹20 thousand in a day.

The SBI has listed the following 2 causes for this reduction of the limit.

  1. To reduces the fraudulent transaction
  2. Encourage Digital/ cashless payments

We all know that withdrawal from the branches takes time. Therefore ATMs are very convenient for withdrawals. So limiting the amount may result in the wastage of our precious time.

However, you can deal with this situation by adopting the digital transactions.

ICICI Bank Withdrawal Limit

ICICI Bank has a different withdrawal limit for different types of cards. There are many types of the debit card of ICICI Bank. So, to know the withdrawal limit, check out your debit card.

Limit of ₹50,000/day

  • Silver Debit card
  • Women card
  • HPCL Debit card

Limit of ₹75,000/day

  • Gold Debit card

Limit of ₹1 lakh/day

  • MasterCard World Debit Card
  • Coral Debit card
  • Platinum card
  • Titanium Debit card
  • Business Debit card

Limit of ₹1.5 lakh/day

  • Rubyx Debit Card
  • Coral Business
  • Visa Signature

You can’t withdraw more than 10 thousand/transaction if you use the ATM of other banks.

HDFC Bank ATM Withdrawal Limit

Like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank has also set different ATM withdrawal limit for different types of debit cards. the Minimum withdrawal limit of HDFC bank is ₹25,000. The limit goes up to 3 lakhs.

How to Open PPF Account Online  in HDFC Bank

PNB Withdrawal Limit

The Punjab national bank has a higher limit than the SBI. The minimum limit of ATM withdrawal of PNB is ₹25,000. There are only 2 slabs of PNB as there are only two types of debit card from the Punjab National Bank.

  • Platinum debit card – ₹50,000 /day
  • Classic Debit Card – ₹25,000/day

Note, you can’t withdraw more than 15,000 at a time. This limit is applicable for both types of the cards.

Axis Bank Withdrawal Limit of ATM

The Axis bank has many types of Debit cards. The limit of ATM withdrawal also depends upon the types of card. Nevertheless, the Minimum limit is 25,000. It is set for the Master debit card. Well, most the Axis bank cards have the limit of ₹40000/day.

Smart Privilege 40,000
Power Salute 40,000
NRI international 40,000

MasterCard Gold Plus 50,000

As Axis Bank customer can withdraw maximum ₹10,000 from other bank ATM.

Bank Of Baroda

The Bank of Baroda has issued 6 types of debit cards. These cards have different withdrawal limits.

Limit of ₹25,000/day

  • Visa Electron Card
  • RuPay Classic Card
  • Master Classic Card

Limit of ₹50,000/day

  • RuPay Platinum Card
  • Baroda Master Platinum Card

Limit of ₹1 lakh/day

  • VISA Platinum Chip Card

To deal with the limit of ATM withdrawal, use the cashless mode of the transactions as much as possible. You can use the Unified Payment Interface (UPI), for the transactions up to ₹1 lakh. It is instant and free. There are many Best UPI apps along with the SBI’s own BHIM SBI Pay.

There are other methods of the cashless transaction as well. These are the IMPS, NEFT and RTGS. These modes charge some fees. You can also use a debit card to make payment. The government has also waived fees for Debit card payments.
