You can use the USSD Code *99# to send money without the smartphone. Further, you can also use the specific code of your bank to make this process faster. These codes are very important when you have same mobile number in more than one bank account. Using the bank codes you can select the bank for sending money or balance check. For example when you dial the *99*41# your mobile gets connected to State Bank of India. Thus your further transaction would be with the State bank of India.
These codes are also useful for the first time users as you are not required to enter the IFSC code or Bank name. However, you can send money and check the account balance without these codes as well. The *99# banking would give the option to enter your bank name. There would be one more step but you would be able to complete the transaction. You can learn more about the USSD Banking in my detailed post on the subject.
